ASA 118- Docking Endorsement

One Day, 9am–4:30pm

Docking can be one of the trickiest parts of sailing, especially when wind, current, and tight slips are involved. This one-day course focuses on the practical skills you need to confidently maneuver a 31–34′ auxiliary-powered sailboat, including engine and steering controls, docking techniques, dock lines, crew communication, and safe boat handling in a variety of conditions.

Hands-on practice is the focus of the day, giving you the opportunity to build confidence and develop techniques you can use on your own boat or while chartering. The course also covers basic auxiliary power systems and prepares you for the ASA 118 Docking Endorsement exam.

The ASA Docking & Maneuvering Made Easy textbook is included with the course and will be mailed to you. We recommend reading it before the course to help you prepare for the written exam. If you’d prefer to pick up your book from our office, or you’re registering within a week of the course, please contact us to arrange it.
