Rent a sailboat in Santa Cruz!
Ready to get on the water with your crew? Please review our requirements for renting one of our fully equipped cruising vessels.
Be prepared to send your sailing resume and ASID to verify your certification. Pacific Sail provides a resume template that you’ll need to complete before your first bareboat charter.
Requirements for Bareboat Charters:
- Renters must be ASA or US Sailing certified up to Bareboat Chartering.
- At least one crew member must be capable of serving as First Mate, holding an ASA 103 certification (single-hand sailing is not allowed).
- First time renters who are not Pacific Sail ASA-104 students must pass a practical checkout before their rental date.
- Renters who haven’t sailed with Pacific Sail in the past three years must also complete a practical checkout before their rental date.
- A minimum of two years of experience with similar vessels is required.
- No marine losses in the last ten years.
- No suspensions (including auto) in the last five years.
- No criminal convictions or pleas of no contest ever.
Rates (Before Tax):
- Rates before tax range from $150-$700 per day depending on your vessel and season.

*Charter requests must be submitted at least three days in advance.
*We offer half-day charters from May-October, starting at 3:00pm.
*All charter boats must be returned to the harbor one hour before sunset.
*Pets are not permitted on our boats.
